OUR PASTOR
Rev. Timothy W. Johnson is a native of Salisbury, Maryland. He is the second of three children born to Rebecca Newsome and the late Thomas Johnson of Salisbury, Maryland. He was married to the late Evelyn Johnson and together they were blessed with two daughters, Natasha Nicole Johnson, Tawanda M. Johnson, a son Angelo Jerald and three grandchildren Tavion, Mariah and Mayla.
Rev. Johnson attended the public schools of Wicomico County in Salisbury, Maryland. He is a graduate of Hampton University with a Bachelors of Arts Degree in General Studies. He has done graduate studies at Trinity Theological Seminary and Bible College in Newburgh, Indiana. He holds a Master of Divinity Degree in Practical Theology from Regent University School of Divinity in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Rev. Johnson is currently pursuing his Doctor of Ministry Degree at Newbury Theological Seminary, Newburgh College of the Bible in Newburgh, Indiana.
Rev. Johnson accepted the call to preach in the summer of 1992. He was licensed at Bethel A. M. E. Church, Hampton, Virginia under the pastoral leadership of Rev. Samuel E. Hayward, III. He was ordained an Itinerant Elder at the 136th Session of the Virginia Annual Conference under the leadership of Bishop Vinton R. Anderson.
Pastor Johnson has pastored the following charges: Mt. Gilead A. M. E. in Franklin, Virginia, Holly Grove A. M. E. Church in Windsor, Virginia and Bethel A. M. E. in Eastville, Virginia. At the 145th Session of the Virginia Annual Conference, on May 10, 2015, Rev. Johnson was assigned to the pastoral charge at Lee's Chapel A. M. E. Church in Chesapeake, VA. He is currently employed at Norfolk State University as a Warehouse Specialist III in the General Receiving Department.
